Write your reaction to the last paragraph in the chapter. Do you agree or disagree with Graybeard? Is what he says true for those times, but not now? Or is the reverse true: is it true now, but wasn't true then?
I agree with graybeard because if something I loved was a taboo and I wanted to do it,I would have felt guilty because, what if I got caught doing the thing I loved and it was a taboo, I would be so scared, frightened.
Chapter 8
An important theme in this novel is that people should follow their dreams and do what they believe is right, even if they don't follow their society's expected ways.
The author examines this theme in a stone age setting. Imagine a similar situation today, where a person's desires go against society's expectations
What situation did you imagine?
The situation I imagine would be that when Abaraham Lincoln ended slavery, that is an example of a person following his dream, even though some poeple still wanted slavery , he fought back.
In the situation you imagined, should the person follow his or her dreams or should they follow society's rules? Give your opinion.
I am glad that he ended slavery because if he would have listened to the society's rule the world would have not gone well , it is today , smoothly and better.
Chapter 9
Why do you think Graybeard changed his mind?
I would think that graybeard had changed his mind because he might have felt he same way when he was a little child and he was curious to know how to draw, just like Tao.
What does this tell you about his character?
This tells me that inside of him is a kind man who cares about this boy who he just met.

Period 2-3 Dogs Wanted Dear Mom,
I was thinking about having a dog for a pet. Also it doesn’t hurt to have another person in the family. Our dog will be great. The dog will love us because were a great family to take care of a dog. We can work together. The dog will sure to make us happy.I will take care of the dog. That way you don't have to take responsibility , that would be my job. These are reasons why a dog can be a good pet .The dog can find you if there is a fire, for example you are traped somewhere. The dog can sence if there is a earhquake coming. For an animal dog are really smart. This way we can be safe. Also, you always say that we may go out but we don't.This would be a great way to do something, because we could go out for a walk with the the dog.Or go outside just to play with the dog.
Other reasons are that the dog will keep us occupied while you have to do something. Also, we would be geting a great exerise when we run outside or at the park. We will be doing something else for a change, instead of sitting at home watching tv. We all should get a dog so it can be part of our family. We will give it lots of love and take care of it like our family would do to us.
More reasons are that the dog will love us so I think we should love it too.I want the dog because it will give us company. The dog will also teach us responsibility. We will have lot of fun with it, and I promise it will make you happy. We will have anther person in the family and it doesn't hurt to add another.
I know you may have concerns of having a dog.I know you may be worried about the dog leaving "presents" or dirting up the house. But you won't have to worry about that because I will be responsible for everything the dog does. So, in case the dog leaves "presents" I will clean it up. We can also potty train the dog so the mess won't happen.
In conclusion, I hope I convinced you to have dog as a pet.The dog will be sure to make you laugh and smile. The dog is going to be so cute.It will be so happy to be apart of a new family. We will give it lots of attention and love. Remember you don't have to worry about anything.

Period 2-3 Eleven
This story “Eleven” is written by Sandra Cisneros. It’s about a girl named Rachel ,she turned eleven and her birthday got ruined by a ugly old sweater that she had to were but it was not hers. Rachel is credible because she would act like a eleven year old kid would act.
Rachel is a belivable character because she because she feels as if she is not eleven. In the story she act as if she is all the years under her. This proves that Rachel is a credible character because other people may act like a 3 year old when you cry or you feel like your to old for a 5 year old kid's game , you feel as the years under you.
Another reason why Rachel is a belivable character because she got embarrased when the teacher gave her a ugly sweater that was not hers. This proves Rachel is a credible character because anybody would get embarresed if they had to wear a ugly sweater in class because the other kids may laugh at you.
Another reason why Rachel is a belivable character because she had got her birthday ruined. This proves that Rachel is a credible character because anybody can have a bad day right on your birthday and you thought the day would have gone really great. But it did not turn out well.:(
In conclusion, Rachel in the story "Eleven" is like any kid you see, because she says that she feels as if she is all the years under her.Other kids might have cryed for something they wanted but, they are like 8,9,10.But, they feel like they are a little child 3,4,2.It also has happened to me.I play little kid games so I feel like I'm 5,4,6,but I'm 11.She's just like us.

Period 2-3 Becky and the wheel and Brake Boys The story “Becky and the Wheel and Brake Boys” was written by James Berry. It tells of a girl named Becky who really wants a bike but can’t get one until the end of the story. Becky is a credible character. She shows that she is credible through what she feels, says, and does.
Becky is believable because she wants to fit in with the other children. For example, Becky thinks, “ I only want to be with Nat, Aldo, Jimmy, and Ben. “ They all have bikes, and she wants one too, so she can ride and play with them. This proves that Becky is credible because lots of people have a time when they want something that will help them fit in with other kids.
Becky keeps asking her mom for bike. Becky says to herself, “ Over and over I told my mom I wanted a bike.” A while later she tells her mother,” I still want to have a bike badly.” In order to get what she wants, Becky thinks she has to ask several times and give reasons for how she feels towards the item. This shows Becky is believable because almost many kids love begging for things until they get them.
Finally, another reason that Becky is a credible character is because she always fought with her friend. As an example, Becky thinks, “ For the first time me and Shirnette had a real fight, because of what I hated most.”Shirnette wanted to get back at Becky because Becky had put a centipede up her shirt, so she got even by putting a cockroach in Becky’s blouse. This proves that Becky is a realistic character because a lot of best friends get in fights, but then they make up.
In conclusion, Becky, the main character in “Becky and the Wheel and Brake Boys,” is a realistic character because she goes through what all or most kids go through. She is like a ordinary average kid. I also got in a fight with a friend but, we made up.
1. What are you good at? I would say I'm good at video games because when I play them I know how to pass the games.
